Empowering Firefighters Through Technology
About 1018Wildfire
Welcome to 1018Wildfire a new initiative dedicated to bridging the gap between wildland fire operations and modern technology.
Our mission is to empower wildland firefighters and their leadership with the tools, knowledge, and confidence to integrate emerging technologies into daily workflows before, during, and after fire events.
For too long, training has focused solely on boots-on-the-ground tactics, while rapidly advancing tools for mapping, communications, safety, and decision support have remained out of reach or out of scope.
By aligning our curriculum with the 10 Standard Firefighting Orders and 18 Situations that Shout Watch Out, we ground every lesson in the core principles of fireline safety and situational awareness. From real-time satellite intelligence and drone recon to wearable safety sensors and predictive fire modeling, we teach how to apply today's technology to reduce risk, improve response, and save lives.
1018 Wildfire isn’t just a training platform, it's about using technology to make firefighting smarter, faster, and safer. When we connect innovation with proven field wisdom, we protect not only the lives of our firefighters but also the communities they serve.
Training Firefighters Today for a Smarter, Safer Tomorrow
Geospatial Capabilities
Leverage satellite imagery and GIS data to understand terrain, fire spread, and remote area conditions in real time.
Drone Intelligence
Deploy drones forlive aerial views, thermal imaging, and post-fire assessments without putting personnel at risk.
GPS Mapping
Maintain accurate situational awareness with real-time tracking of crews, assets, and fire progression zones.
Fire Behavior Modeling
Predict the path, speed, and intensity of wildfires with scientific models that assist in strategic planning.
Wearable Safety Tech
Equip your crew with smart devices that monitor vitals, location, and safety alerts in high-risk zones.
Advanced Communications
Improve inter-agency coordination and field communication with next-gen, resilient networking tools.
“There are so many capabilities, companies, and options, how can fire chiefs understand how, why, and when to use or purchase them. Helping leadership learn is just as important as the basic firefighter.”
